Toast it, Tear it, Love it!

Toast it, Tear it, Love it!

When I was a girl, living in the communist Czechoslovakia, both my parents used to leave for work at 6am. My mum used to prepare my and my older brother’s breakfast in advance.

It was then left on the kitchen table. Often we just ignored this and did not eat anything. As a result I was starving at school, and did not eat anything before 10:30 every school day.

In my adulthood years I have always been stressing the importance of having breakfast. Luckily both my girls love eating in the morning. I think it is very important to fuel our bodies with healthy food in the morning to start the day great. Going to school on an empty stomach is undoubtedly not a great start of a day.

I know that many people say they do not feel hungry or like eating in the morning. Try to find something you really enjoy. Make time for breakfast, don’t rush and enjoy having a few bites with your family if you can.

My girls love our mornings together. I have to confess that from time to time I treat them to some breakfast in bed  on a school day too. Why not? That way their grumpy faces light up and the life is straight away much happier.

Kingsmill have recently launched two new products which we have been sent to taste, and make our breakfast experience even tastier.

Kingsmill Super Toasty

The New Kingsmill Super Toasty is a brand new toasting loaf with a special recipe that gives the ‘best ever toast’ experience, designed specifically to create the perfect slice of toast that you’re sure to love.

Its recipe features a special blend of flours and the baked loaf is thickly sliced to deliver the optimum slice of delicious warming toast – crispy on the outside and soft and pillowy on the inside.

I think it should be called “Super Yummy” too!

I love mine usually plain, just with butter, occasionally I go for the Marmite version. My girls love spreading some strawberry jam on top, and daddy is a huge peanut butter lover .

What topping is your favourite?

Kingsmill Toasties

The Kingsmill Mixed Berry Toasties are bursting with flavour and bringing something totally new to breakfast time.

Toasties are designed to be lightly toasted to give a crisp and golden outside, then easily torn into two triangles revealing a soft and doughy middle packed with delicious pieces of fruit.

You might wonder if it’s similar to some fruit bread/toast, but it’s not. Love the fluffiness and the fact you do not need anything else for it except a bit of butter.

Both girls have quickly fallen in love with the toasties and the packs we have been sent have disappeared in no time!

Here you have it. Some fabulous new products that should be on your breakfast table, available nationwide from Asda, Co-op and Tesco stores!

Bon appétit!

I want toast for dinner now, those cinnamon and raisin toasties sound good, will hunt them down. I like apple jelly on toast, my Mum made loads of crabapple jelly last autumn, and I have jars of the stuff to get through. Just as well I like it really.
