Keeping Fit With FitBit Ultra!

From following my Fitness Tuesday you know, how passionate I am about being active, fit and that even being pregnant doesn’t stop me from doing so. The first few moths of my second pregnancy I didn’t feel like doing any exercises, I was very sick all the time. Once that phase was gone, I was again ready to go back to my fitness routines, but of course it didn’t happen overnight. It took me a few weeks, but now am back to my 5.23 km power-walk ( around 50mins) one/twice a week and swimming ( up to 70 lengths 25m pool in 50 mins) twice a week. I am very pleased with it, and only hope it will last me for a while.

A few weeks ago I was sent a very interesting gadget called Fitbit ultra, which is just coming to the UK. As I love spreading the word about fitness for mums and pregnant women, I have agreed to test it and let you know what I think about it.

First of all, it is a tiny little plastic kind of clip which I attach to my bra, and is very light. You will not even know you have it on. It was very easy to set up, download the software and get everything ready on my computer. What I love about it is, that it measures how many steps you do in a day/ week, how many stairs you climb. You can also record your sleeping efficiency, which was also admired by daddy (it will be interesting to see the change once the baba arrives in March…). You just need to press start on Fitbit and everything else will be later transferred onto your computer. This is absolutely perfect for me now, as you can set a weekly target and try to reach it, you also get badges when you pass some important milestones. Great encouragement and just keeps you moving forward. I think this is a brilliant device especially for mums/dads who at at home and don’t have that much time to go to the gym. Walking is a very healthy way to exercise and I love that thanks to Fitbit I can keep track about how many calories I burn, and after entering the food data, it shows me how many extra calories I used or if I was naughty and need to burn more. I love it, a fantastic product, which could be a great present for yummy mummies!

It’s available to order online from the 26th of December on Amazon and through the Fitbit website. It will then be on general sale from the 2nd of January.

Oh No! that means I can’t put it on my Xmas wish list…. I am a big fan of gadget stuff, and this is definitely what I would fancy. I also try to stay fit, but with 2 young kids at home and a full time job (for which I have to travel quite a lot), it’s getting more and more difficult to stick to strict fitness routine…

what a fab looking gadget, a brilliant idea, would love to try one of these out especially at work where it is 6 hrs of constant on your feet walking, carrying, mopping, hoovering, and see what category it puts each activity in… need to start dropping hints for my birthday next year( will take a while then as I not had my birthday this yr yet)

Well, I know, it is a shame, would be a perfect Xmas gift, but many people start their new year resolutions, so might be a good idea to wait till Jan 😉
