Host a #StrawberryTea Party & Show you Care

Host a #StrawberryTea Party & Show you Care

A few weeks ago I was very worried. I was dealing with some breast pain for over 2 weeks, something I had never experienced before. As the pain was not going away, and after talking to my hubby I knew I had to see a doctor to make sure everything was fine.

The speed I was seen by a local GP, and then by a specialist at a local breast clinic was surprising. It’s actually really assuring how quickly things can be done.

As the GP assured me I needed to be checked as she could not see anything but just to make sure and get all clear, I should not have been that worried, but I was. I lost my dad to cancer, and the big “C” word was hanging in the air.

Luckily all my results were clear, and soon after all the tests were done my breast stopped hurting. The doctors said it could have been hormonal or even just going through some emotional stressful period.

It was a huge relief. I was lucky, but there are many women out there who are not. They need lots of support from people like me and you, and  people who know how to deal with fighting cancer like Breast Cancer Care.

There are many ways how we can support this charity, take part in a sports challenge (running races, walks, bike rides), host a pink event or how about hosting a strawberry tea party this summer?

It’s easy. Just follow the steps below:

1. Decide on date with your family, friends, school mums and get your free kit from Breast Cancer Care website
2. Prepare some lovely goodies for the strawberry tea party, and enjoy it with your friends and family.
3. Ask everyone to donate and support such a great cause.

How about trying this lovely recipe for Strawberry & Kale Halloumi Salad by the Flexitarian?

I am so pleased to hear that you are ok. It’s scary isn’t it but the NHS are so brilliant at being able to check these things out so quickly. I had to get checked out a couple of years ago when I was 24 as I had found a lump and I remember being so scared. Thankfully I got seen by the GP and referred to the hospital really quickly and thankfully it was just a swollen gland. Breast Cancer Care is such a worthy cause!
A good strawberry recipe which is fab in the nutribullet (One of my favourite things at the moment!!!)
    – some frozen strawberries
    -one avocado
-two tablespoons of peanut butter (smooth if you can get it)
    – almond milk.
whizz them up all together and it makes the most amazing smoothie!

Forgot to add – strawberries added to salads with some feta are lush too!
