If your little ones love spooky Halloween activities and animals, then you will love reading about our day at ZSL Whipsnade Zoo. We were invited to check out their Boo at the Zoo week (Saturday 21 October – Tuesday 31 October 2017) and we loved it.
The last time we visited Whipsnade ZOO was when Olivia was still in her buggy, and she was very keen to see what has changed!
New for 2017, families can get horribly competitive at the monstrously fun, nine-hole Ghastly Golf course. Children and grown-ups can see if they can putt like a peacock or chip like a chimp at the special, open-air mini-golf course, which is making the Zoo its haunted home for Halloween.
Open each day and included in the Zoo’s entry price, everyone can try out their spooky swing and see if they can land themselves a batty birdie or an eerie eagle!
Throughout the week, Zoo visitors can experiment with Creepy Crafts, making menacing masks or carving their own petrifying pumpkins, or take a ride on the Eerie Express steam train, where intrepid explorers will climb aboard and join the hunt for six endangered species, including the Philippine eagle, the Asiatic lion and the pangolin.
Animal-lovers who want to get into the Halloween spirit can also experience a whole host of interactive, terrifying talks and devilish demonstrations. Featuring the Zoo’s most fascinating animals, Monster Mythbusters, Ominous Owls and pop-up Bug Talks will amaze even the cleverest little monsters.
We had a spooktacular day out at the ZSL Whipsnade ZOO and will be back next year for sure!
