This September saw my 10-year-old starting the last year of her primary education. This is a kind of milestone for us, and when she asked if she could walk to her school on her own, my heart started going bearing super fast.
As most mums even I don’t want my little ones to grow up too fast, and this has only reminded me that I can not stop the process of them growing up, can only accept it and make the most of the days when they still want to be around their mum most of the time.
Both our girls go to two different primary schools due to us moving into our current house 3 years ago. Isabelle was on the waiting lists for all local school for nearly 3 years before she got a place offered. meanwhile, our little one got into the closest school without any problems.
As there is quite a big age gap, nearly 5 years, we decided to go this school despite knowing that the girls will never attend the school, which is a shame, but walking to the closest school was and is very important to us.
Anyway, last year Isabelle finally got a place at a local school which is about 15 minutes fast walking away. I managed to do two different school runs thanks to driving and some help from my school mum friends. I could continue doing so for another year, but seeing my older daughter wants mo independence helped me and my husband make the decision to let go and offer it to her.
It was not easy, and we had to discuss the option of a mobile phone so that she would let me know when she gets to school. We are very strict about mobile phones in our house. She did not need it for anything as I was functioning like a taxi driver to her after school clubs too, but walking to school on her own has changed this.
I rarely ask to review products, but luckily I came across Tinitell on Instagram, and was wondering what is this kid’s mobile phone about! When I checked all the features and reviews, I got in touch with Tinitell, and can tell you right now, a very good decision of mine!
What is Tinitell?
Tinitell is basically a wearable mobile phone for kids, GPS enabled. Super simple, fun and durable. It was so easy to set up, connect my iPhone with the app and start tracking where Isabelle is. Calling is also super easy, just one touch of a button. And have I mentioned she can also check what the time is?
With the Tinitell app on your smartphone you’ll be able to:
- Add a new Tinitell in the app
- Add contacts to Tinitell
- Manage Tinitell’s settings
- Call your kid
- Locate your kid on the map
As a parent, I love the idea she can ONLY call people whom I have added on her Tinitell, and also block all unknown numbers. Just brilliant!
Based on a recent report released by the Norwegian Consumer Council, where several children’s phones are referred to as unsafe, Tinitell is the ONLY phone in the test that does not present a security risk for kids. No wonder!
Tinitell (RRP € 126) is undoubtedly one of the products I have reviewed in my nearly 9-year-old blogging career that I believe will become huge in the very near future.
