Staying Connected with Monqi Kids Smartphone

Staying Connected with Monqi Kids Smartphone

On the first day of March, we will be very anxious to hear about the Secondary school our nearly 11-year-old Isabelle will be offered. After all the tuition, exams and stress, things have calmed down and now it has just been a waiting game for us for past few months.

This will also be the time marking another milestone in my little girl’s growing up and becoming a teenager. Recently she has been talking about starting Secondary school more and more and I only hope the transition is going to be smooth for her.

Being much more independent will be part of this, and this will also mean I will not be driving her everywhere. This is the time we have agreed she will need a smartphone so that we could stay connected.

When it comes to choosing the right smartphone for my children, I think the most important thing for me as a parent is to still be able to control them in some way. I do not mean to be reading their messages but to be able to control how much credit they can spend and how much data, and similar.

Monqi have kindly sent us their kids’ smartphone which does all that plus much more. It gives you all the parental tools you need to get your children started with mobile technology, safely and affordably. You have peace of mind and your child has independence.

Watch Isabelle’s reaction to receiving her Monqi smartphone!

Monqi features:

Isabelle loved the sleek design of her Monqi, which definitely does not look childish at all. This is very important as most children want a smartphone that resembles an adult one.

I love the fact you as a parent can manage your child’s apps in many ways – deny/approve when the app is downloaded, set a time limit for total app time, switch active apps on/off, set restrictions on individual apps.

Giving my child more independence is much easier with Monqi as I can always see her latest activity and the current location of the Monqi phone on my app dashboard.

Scheduling is another great feature any parent will appreciate as that way you can control how much time your child spends on their smartphone. You can set restrictions, and lock the phone for nighttime and school.

You as a parent can manage your child’s phone usage and cost. You can stay on top of SMS, mobile data, and call time to ensure it does not exceed your budget. Monqi have ensured that the child can always contact the parent so even if Isabelle has used up all her call time I or my husband can still be reached.

Geo-fencing notifies me when she enters or leaves a geographic zone of my choosing. This way I can be notified when she arrives at school or similar.

Contacts – Only contacts approved or added by me can contact or be contacted by my daughter. This means that when Isabelle adds a contact I will have to approve this person. I can also add contacts to her phone.

Monqi has its own chat functionality so there is no need to introduce social media chat like Messenger or WhatsApp.

I would like to win for my 5 year old daughter who asked for a mobile for Christmas, we had already got her presents as she asked last minute, but have been considering getting her one for her 6th birthday in august, we moved just before Christmas so don’t see our family as often as we did, this would be a great way of her feeling closer to them again as my mum in law lived in the next street from our previous home xXx

I’d love to win this for my 10 year old daughter. She’s been asking for a phone for months and I keep saying no. Last month she asked me again if she could have one on her 10th birthday and I said no, so in her frustration she asked me “well then, when did you get your first mobile phone”, her face dropped when I replied, “I was 21, and I’d just started my first job after finishing Uni”. She hasn’t asked for one since.
