While many of us try to capture every moment of our child’s life, memories can get lost within hundreds of photographs saved onto your computer. It may be worthwhile to set aside a few special moments to treasure forever. You can capture these and then get them printed so they won’t get lost in your digital shuffle. Here are some of the most photogenic moments that you can print and let stand out.
First crawl
The moment when your child first learns to move himself around the floor will be a moment of both curiosity and wonder, and you’ll definitely want a picture of the expression on his face when he gains this first level of independence.
First time interacting with a pet
Pets and young children can often become the best of friends. When your newly-mobile child has her first interaction with a beloved family pet, you’ll want to make sure you capture the moment this friendship started.
First steps
Those first hesitant steps represent your child’s first attempts at further exploration. And that victorious smile when he manages to stay on his feet? Priceless.
First day of school
On your child’s first day of school, it may be a sad event for you, as you watch your little one set off for the beginning of her school career. This is a major transition from a life at home as a little one to a responsible student. Make sure you have the camera on hand to capture this exciting day.
First event
Many children start to develop outside interests once they start school. Some join the football team, while others take violin lessons or join a youth theater troupe. Whatever your child decides, these activities represent your child’s individual interest and talents. When you attend that first football match, recital or play performance, bring your camera and get a picture of your child’s blossoming talent.
First day of university
While it may seem like a long way off yet, this day will be here before you know it. When your child finishes school and is ready for university, this is an accomplishment worth remembering.
Graduation
Even further away, but just over the horizon, the day your child finishes university will be a day to remember. Here, you can celebrate the end of a successful academic accomplishment, as well as the beginning of your child’s professional life. Though this day will most likely be bittersweet, you’ll want to remember it forever with a picture of the big event.
A Final Note
Often these moments are fleeting and you’ll want to be prepared to capture each one. While they may occur spontaneously, choosing the right camera will help increase your chances of getting these pictures. Something small, light and user-friendly will be most helpful, as you’ll be likely to carry such a camera with you. You may also want to invest in something with a fast shutter speed and a digital image stabilizer, so that you won’t miss these precious moments as they zoom by, because they will be over before you know it.
