We have been very lucky as we have been sent another board game to review by Orchard Toys. This time I made the choice, and it took me a while to decide which one of their famous games to go for. As Isabelle is currently learning numbers at school, I went for one of their best sellers, Round and Round, and was curious if also our family could confirm why this board game is so highly rated by others.
Let’s start with the instructions. They were very clear and easy to follow, which is always a great start, as Isabelle gets sometimes bored when mummy goes through instructions and can tell you that sometimes I don’t even know what to do. So, a big plus for the easiness of instructions. They are also not difficult to remember, which can be another problem, especially now when mummy is pregnant…
After assembling the playing board and the 3D buses, we put the cards into piles according to colours and started playing. At first Isabelle was not that happy as she expected to land on one of the bus stops straight away, which didn’t happen…but we kept on playing and soon she was leading. As she is getting older, we don’t let her win, and really play the way that we never know who is going to win. That of course doesn’t make her very happy, but as she is a clever and lucky girl, she managed to win the first time. I really like the idea of combining a game and practising numbers and counting, which is definitely what she needs right know. So the age suitability of this game is also confirmed by us.
To sum up, we had a lot of fun singing and playing , learning and give it a big “thumps up”!
