Films to Watch on Amazon Prime this May Half-term

We usually go on some lovely beach holiday during the May half-term break, but not this year. As we will be in Turkey this August, we decided to spend this coming holiday at home in London.

I have loads of plans visiting a few Merlin Annual Pass attractions with my girls as we are one of their blogging ambassadors. Hopefully the weather is nice. I am also planning lots of sleepovers and movie nights, and that’s why having the Amazon Prime will be super handy. Just check out all the fab movies you can enjoy with your kids!

The BFG

From the imaginations of two of the world’s greatest storytellers, Roald Dahl and Steven Spielberg, The BFG (Big Friendly Giant) is the exciting tale of a young London girl named Sophie (Ruby Barnhill) and the mysterious Giant (Oscar Winner Mark Rylance) who introduces her to the wonders and perils of Giant Country.

The BFG was published in 1982 and has been enchanting readers of all ages ever since. We were super lucky and attended the BFG movie premiere at Leicester Square in london last July, and it has been one of our family favourite movie since then!

The BFG available on AMAZON PRIME VIDEO NOW!

SWALLOWS AND AMAZONS

Swallows and Amazons follows the Walkers, four children dreaming of an escape from the tedium of a summer holiday with their mother. When finally given permission to camp on their own on a remote island in the middle of a vast lake, they are overjoyed.

But when they get there they discover they may not be alone…

WILLY WONKA & THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY

The story of Charlie Bucket, a little boy with no money and a good heart, who dreams wistfully of being able to buy the candy that other children enjoy.

Charlie enters into a magical world when he wins one of five ‘Golden Tickets’ to visit the mysterious chocolate factory owned by the eccentric Willy Wonka and run by his capable crew of Oompa-Loompas.

SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELLING PANTS

Coming-of-age adventure based on Ann Brashares’ best-selling novel about a special sixteenth summer in the lives of four lifelong friends who are separated for the first time.

On a shopping trip, the girls find a pair of jeans that fits each of them perfectly and they decide to use these ‘magic’ pants as a way of keeping in touch over the months ahead…
