In the past few months we have had a chance to review quite a few movies, and when I was asked to check the Dolphin Tale out, I couldn’t say no, as Isabelle absolutely loves dolphins. I was also thinking this could be good to watch during the half-term holidays. Unfortunately the DVD arrived when Isabelle was at home, so I couldn’t save it for the holiday…
And what did we think of it? I am so glad Isabelle is starting to enjoy more movies with real actors and not just cartoons. I know that is a sign of her growing up, but it was so nice to cuddle on the sofa, get some popcorn ready and watch it together. We both loved it. She was really fascinated by the story, which didn’t have any traumatic or scary scenes. A movie you can definitely watch with the whole family.
I think it is a great story about the bond between animals and humans. A young boy discovers an injured dolphin, and helps the animal to survive. Unfortunately she looses her tale, and the whole story gets more and more interesting as people are trying to help her using a new prosthetic tale. Including my favourite Morgan Freeman, this is a movie I can watch again soon.
Dolphin Tale: New DVD release (out today 13th Feb) starring Morgan Freeman, Harry Connick Jr and Ashley Judd.
